It's a Love Thing

Travis asked Anna if she wanted heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast on Valentines. Her reply: "Can we have ice cream with it?"

The girls were really cute about Valentines this year. They loved making Valentines for their school friends, and even surprised us with some for Mom and Dad. I loved seeing them use their creativity to customize the cards for each friend. Anna told me "Adelle (a girl in her class) has rainbow eyes (meaning more than one color) so her card is a rainbow."

Lastly, I just wanted to show this cute thing from Trav. When we were first married, we used to buy Toaster Strudels a lot. We'd have them as treats before bed and we would always decorate one another's pastry to show our affection. Somehow, we just kind of stopped buying them for the past 7 years. Well, I found a coupon and bought some a couple weeks ago. One night after the kids were in bed, Trav was making the Toaster Strudels while I got our Netflix ready. When he brought mine over, this is what it looked like:

Here's to a love that never dies! And to silly ways of showing love that continue all these years later. I challenge you to find some creative way to show love to your family this week!

What Do You Do In The Wintertime?

As you may know, the Groundhog has predicted another six weeks of winter. While I would certainly rather be in Cancun right now, I am going to rejoice in the winter we have left. Here are some of my faves from this winter:

We went to This is The Place Monument for their Christmas Village, but somehow I forgot all of Eve's warm things, so she bundled up under Trav's coat as we walked around.

January and February seem like the longest months of the year to me, but I'm trying to remember that we LOVE snow and it's only around a short while. What do you do in the winter time?
